Munoz was a member of Spain’s side that won the tournament but did not appear due to an injury.
The 23-year-old has since enjoyed an impressive start to life at Liverpool, scoring one goal in six appearances across all competitions.
Munoz, while speaking at a press conference, revealed the lesson he learned from being sidelined during the World Cup
“Just going to a World Cup is a dream, and winning it with this family is incredible. But as you say, I had tough moments. You spend a season doing things well, you get the reward of going to the World Cup, and then you feel your body can’t give any more and doesn’t reach that match.
“It keeps relapsing, things drag on, and you never feel 100% at any point in the tournament. But you try to take the positives: I learned a lot, I learned to know my body – when you’re young, you often think you can handle everything.
“In that sense, it helped me mature. Being able to live that experience with my family and friends is something I’ll keep forever, along with the joy of having won it.”
The Real Madrid academy graduate could make his first start for Spain in Saturday’s UEFA Nations League clash against Czechia.
He came off the bench in the victory over Croatia, marking his third appearance for the world champions.
Liverpool will be hoping Munoz returns injury-free, with uncertainty surrounding the fitness of Cody Gakpo and Alexander Isak.
Gakpo and Isak have withdrawn from international duty due to injuries, increasing the importance of Munoz staying fit.
The Spain international could be handed a starting role when Liverpool host Manchester City in the Premier League on October 11.
