The Buckeyes are now less than two weeks away from kicking off their 2026-27 football season, and they have unofficially wrapped up fall camp as they shift their focus toward the regular season. So, we are going to ask the esteemed, educated members of Buckeye Nation to tell us what they think Ohio State’s regular season record will be.
We posited a slightly different version of this question back in June, asking what you thought the minimum regular season record the Buckeyes could achieve was, and the overwhelming response was that they would fall no further than 10-2. Ohio State essentially never wins fewer than seven games in a season, so we didn’t include any of those options in the survey (also because we are limited to six choices). Also, let’s be real, there would need to be a catastrophic event on the scale of the meteor that wiped out the dinosaurs or the eruption of Mount Vesuvius to prevent this Ohio State team from losing six games.

Question: What will Ohio State’s regular season record be?
In our surveys the last two weeks, we have asked which road and home games you would most like to attend this season, and those questions underlie the fact that this year’s regular season slate is especially difficult for the Buckeyes. For years, we have gotten used to the cadence of one solid to great non-conference game, one overhyped Big Ten game against a team that will never be on Ohio State’s level (usually Penn State) and then Michigan.
However, this season, the Buckeyes’ schedule is loaded with legitimate opponents capable of making runs to the college football playoff. So, perhaps for the first time in at least 15 years, there is a legitimate shot for OSU to drop more than a couple of games. Now, of course, that doesn’t mean that I am picking that to happen, but I will save my official prediction for closer to the start of the season, not only to avoid biasing the voting public, but also because we will be dropping our annual LGHL Season Predictions Omnibus article late next week.
