Minnesota Vikings legend Randy Moss has added another honor to his already legendary football resume. His play earning induction into the ESPN Hall of Fame as one of the first two inductees ever in the newly announced honor.

Randy Moss Inducted First With Jamaal Charles
ESPN plans to unveil 18 total inductees throughout the 2026 season, with the format appearing to call for one new Hall of Fame selection to be revealed each week. Randy Moss being among the first two makes the recognition an especially fitting tribute to one of the most dominant wide receivers the NFL has ever seen. He is joined by a dominant running back in his prime, Jamaal Charles. Randy is being recognized as ESPN labeled his announcement in the category of Marathon Inductee – Players Wing. Charles is being recognized as the Marathon Inductee – Moments Wing.

The difference between the Players and Moments Wing is that Randy is being inducted for his career totals. Jamal Charles is being inducted for his 2013, Week 15 stat line of 20 rushing yards, 195 receiving yards, 5 total TDs for 59.5 points.
A Career For The Ages
Moss’ NFL career already includes a spot in the Pro Football Hall of Fame. He was even inducted in 2018 as a first-ballot selection. He finished his career with 982 receptions, 15,292 receiving yards and 156 receiving touchdowns.
The former Vikings superstar was a six-time Pro Bowl selection and four-time first-team All-Pro. He was also named to the NFL All-Decade Team of the 2000s and led the NFL in touchdown receptions five times.
Moss’ impact was perhaps never more obvious than during his rookie season in Minnesota. Selected 21st overall in the 1998 NFL Draft, Moss immediately exploded onto the NFL scene. He 1998, he had 69 receptions for 1,313 yards and 17 touchdowns, earning Offensive Rookie of the Year honors.
He later produced one of the greatest touchdown seasons in NFL history when he caught 23 touchdown passes for the New England Patriots in 2007, setting an NFL single-season record that stood as one of the signature achievements of his career.

Moss Is A Fantasy Football Legend
For fantasy football players, Moss was much more than an NFL superstar. He has won many league managers their league, including myself. He is the kind of player you would pray you had a high enough draft spot to be able to land him. He was game-changing for fantasy football.
Over his career, Randy Moss has accumulated approximately 3,467 fantasy points, according to the scoring totals by ESPN. His combination of huge receiving totals, explosive plays and touchdown production made him one of the most valuable fantasy players of his era.
For the fantasy owners fortunate enough to draft Moss during his prime, they had an advantage in their league. ESPN recognizes he was able to be not only be the best on the field, but on the fantasy scoresheets. His production frequently provided the difference. Having Randy meant a manager sneaking into the playoffs or even winning the championship.
Randy had dominant years in Minnesota, his record-setting 2007 season in New England. He had the ability to turn a routine pass into a game-changing touchdown. “Randy Moss” became synonymous with fantasy football greatness. If you faced another player in your playoffs, championships, that had Moss you were nervous. You were in danger of yourself getting “Mossed”.

Randy Takes His Place
Vikings Head Coach Kevin O’Connell has even hoped his mentorship will rub off on his current receivers. Perhaps one day another Vikings great will follow him into this new honor. Now, the Vikings legend has another Hall of Fame distinction to add to his historic career.

Moss is already in the Hall of Fame in the minds of fantasy football managers. Now ESPN has made it official as Randy takes his place among football’s immortals.
