Major League Baseball released its schedule for the 2027 season on Thursday, which will mark the Texas Rangers’ 67th year as a franchise and their 56th since relocating from Washington, D.C., and adopting the Rangers name. According to MLB.com, March 25 “marks the earliest traditional Opening Day in Major League history (excluding special season-openers and international openers).” Here are five things to know about the Rangers’ 2027 schedule:

- Lone Star Series opens 2027
The Rangers will start the season in Houston against the in-state rival Houston Astros at Daikin Park from March 25–27. The series will mark the third time the two Texas franchises have squared off to begin a season since the Astros moved to the American League prior to 2013, with the other occurrences being 2013 and 2018.
- Fourth of July at home
Rangers fans will have the chance to celebrate Independence Day at Globe Life Field. The Rangers will host the Chicago White Sox in Arlington for a three-game series from July 2–4.
- Rivalry Weekend showdown with Houston
The Rangers will host the Astros during MLB's third annual Rivalry Weekend from July 16–18. The three-game set will mark the Rangers' third of four scheduled series against the Astros in 2027.
- 2023 World Series rematch
Texas will host the Arizona Diamondbacks at Globe Life Field from July 30–August 1 in a rematch of the 2023 World Series. Although some stars from that title run, including Marcus Semien, Adolis Garcia, and Jonah Heim, are no longer with the Rangers, the matchup remains a notable feature of the Rangers’ 2027 schedule.
- Marquee interleague matchups in Arlington
The Rangers will welcome eight National League opponents to Texas in 2027, including the following:
- St. Louis Cardinals (April 16–18)
- Philadelphia Phillies (May 28–30)
- Atlanta Braves (June 28–30)
- Los Angeles Dodgers (August 9–11)
- Milwaukee Brewers (September 24–26)
This will give Rangers fans several opportunities to see some of the NL's best at Globe Life Field next season.

NOTE: While MLB released its 2027 schedule Thursday, the season could be affected by the result of ongoing labor negotiations between the league and the MLB Players Association. The current collective bargaining agreement expires after the 2026 season, meaning a new deal must be reached to avoid a potential work stoppage.
