Social media reacts to Kentucky's OT win over UCF
· Yahoo Sports
For a moment, it looked like Kentucky basketball would lose their final exhibition game to UCF. They trailed by two with just seconds remaining, but Alex Wilkins hit a beautiful floater with less than a second remaining to send it to overtime. There, the Wildcats dominated, and earned a 90-76 victory.
Kentucky got big games from Malachi Moreno and Mason Williams. Moreno recorded 16 points, 14 rebounds, and 8 assists, while Williams scored 18 points on 7-of-10 shooting while playing very good defense. Milan Momcilovic took over in overtime, and led the Cats with 19 points overall.

There were some concerns, though. Kentucky led by 13 points, but some major defensive lapses led to wide open three-pointers for UCF. They also continue to have scoring droughts on offense.
Still, overall, they did a lot of good things, and proved they aren't afraid of big moments. After the game, Kentucky fans took to social media to talk about it. Here are some of the best posts from X.

Mason Williams continues to impress
Mason Williams is a dawg. Plays strong, great pace and under control. He is going to end up being a huge player for this team.

Still love Zoom but Mason Williams is the best point guard on this team and should be starting

Very smart by Mark Pope to strategically get this game to OT to teach the team how to win a close one. Dominated in OT, GO CATS!!! #BBN

If Kentucky plays with this intensity and speed that they have in overtime the whole game, they’re winning by 30… where has this been? #bbn
— WilkinsHub (@TrevvKy) October 29, 2026
Alright I’ve been pretty mad but these guys absolutely transformed in overtime #BBN

I have absolutely 0 clue how to gauge this Kentucky basketball team. They have moments where they look phenomenal and other moments where they look like they don’t know how to play basketball. Unfortunately seems to be the tale of the tape in the Mark Pope era.

a very ugly win for the Kentucky mans basketball team but this team is young and will learn to and we gotta be more aggressive early we need to start making our wide open 3pt shot I seen a lot of players open on the 3 ball but missed wide open we need to play better. @KentuckyMBB
