Amidst the Miami Heat’s 0-4 start to the 2026-27 regular season, Klay Thompson and Davion Mitchell revealed changes needed for them to win their first game. Ahead of facing the Atlanta Hawks, Thompson says sharing the ball is key to the Heat turning things around, per Heat Central’s X, formerly Twitter.

“I would say keep trusting the pass,” Thompson said. “I think when we make that extra swing-pass, it just unlocks a lot for our offense.”

Similar to Klay Thompson’s take, Davion Mitchell believes that the Heat need to swing the ball around more often for positive results.

“Can’t be stagnant,” Mitchell said. “We got to move the ball, got to play on our principles, gotta get out in transition. If we get out in transition, it’s hard for them to load up, and play those gaps, and build a wall, obviously, when Giannis gets the ball. So, we gotta get stops and run.”

After losing to the Minnesota Timberwolves on Opening Night, the Heat lost to the Detroit Pistons and the Charlotte Hornets before a 113-109 loss to the Dallas Mavericks on Monday. Antetokounmpo led the Heat with a triple-double (29 points, 14 rebounds, 11 assists), Mitchell added 21 points, and three steals.

Thompson, Mitchell, and the Heat will face the Hawks on the road on Wednesday with hopes of earning their first victory of the young season.
