Three Former Red Sox Had Major Hand In Brewers Game 4 Loss
· Yahoo Sports
The Milwaukee Brewers had a chance to sweep the Tampa Bay Rays in the World Series, but failed to do so.
At the forefront of it all were three former Boston Red Sox players. It was a bullpen game for the Brewers, and Dustin May took the mound first for them. May was acquired by the Red Sox last year in exchange for James Tibbs III, but he was not great for them.

He was solid for the St. Louis Cardinals this year, and the Brewers went and got him at the trade deadline. He went three innings in Game 4, giving up two earned runs. May gave up a leadoff single in the fourth that came around to score and give the Rays a 2-1 lead.
However, how that run came around to score also involved a former Red Sox player. David Hamilton fielded a ground ball with one out and May's runner, who got to second on a groundout previously, was trying to get to third. Hamilton tried to tag him, missed and then fired an off-target throw to first base that allowed the runner to score.
To be fair, Hamilton made up for his error by hitting a solo home run in the top of the fifth inning to tie the game back up. After that, there were no runs scored and barely any base runners until the 12th inning.
In the top of the 12th inning, Cooper Pratt hit a home run that looked to be the decisive blow and would make him a legend in Milwaukee at just 22 years old. The only problem was that the Brewers had used most of their arms and had very few options for the 12th inning.
They turned to Shane Drohan, another former Red Sox player, who came to Milwaukee with Hamilton in the Caleb Durbin trade. Drohan inherited a runner after an error in the 12th and had to get three outs to win the World Series.
Instead, he gave up four consecutive hits and the Brewers lost.
