The Nebraska Cornhuskers will try to snap a two-game losing streak when they host the Washington Huskies on Halloween night. The Huskers have a long and storied history of playing on the fall holiday.

The Huskers last played a Halloween home game in 1998, when Texas upset the No. 7 Cornhuskers, 20-16. The last home Halloween victory was a 52-7 victory over No. 8 Colorado in 1992.
Nebraska has announced a special blackout theme and uniforms for this Saturday's game. The Huskers will wear black alternate jerseys and a black helmet with a script Huskers logo.
This year's blackout theme is "Our Red Burns Brighter." The design draws on the night-game atmosphere at Memorial Stadium.
Along with the primary black, the jersey features metallic red accents inspired by the glow of flames and fireworks, and the vibrant red that shines throughout Memorial Stadium on game day.
The jersey pairs with a black helmet that debuts the iconic Huskers script in metallic red. The metallic red stripe on top of the helmet features the crop row pattern, paying homage to the state's agricultural heritage.
This is the second straight year Nebraska has held a blackout game. Last season, the Huskers hosted USC and lost 21-17. Nebraska's blackout game against Washington kicks off at 7 p.m. CT and will be shown on BTN.
