CHARLOTTE, N.C. – Failing to withstand the bullrush of Tampa Bay Buccaneers outside linebacker Yaya Diaby, Carolina Panthers left tackle Rasheed Walker lost his balance, yielded a sack and fell back on linemate Taylor Moton's leg, shattering his fibula.

Talk about insult and injury.
Moton immediately fell to the Bank of America Stadium turf as teammates motioned for medical assistance. The Panthers' starting right tackle for much of the past nine seasons, Moton appeared despondent riding on the back of the cart before disappearing into the tunnel.
"I feel for T-Mo so much, such a great human being, such a great guy," quarterback Bryce Young said after the Panthers' 43-13 defeat. "He's so much of the glue for us in the locker room. Obviously, he's been here for so long. That veteran presence means so much and he worked so hard to get back to where he was."
It's proving to be a challenging year for the 2017 second-round draft pick.
Moton missed most of the offseason program, training camp and the first four regular-season games after receiving summer treatments for blood clots in his lungs.
Recovered, Moton returned to the starting lineup for the Panthers' Week 6 road win over the Philadelphia Eagles.
"T-Mo is going to be out for a while," Panthers coach Dave Canales said during his post-game press conference.

Panthers, RG Taylor Moton suffer bad break
Inconsistent for much of the season, the Panthers' offensive line struggled against the Buccaneers, yielding five sacks, including a sack-fumble that was returned for a touchdown, and 21 total QB pressures, according to NFL Next Gen Stats.
"I’m just really disappointed," Canales said. "In every phase.
"We didn’t give ourselves a chance."
The Panthers, who compiled 266 net offensive yards, also endured two interceptions by Young and a lost fumble on David Moore's mis-played punt return.
“We got embarrassed, obviously, so that part sucks,” said Hunt, who surrendered the sack-fumble that resulted in Calijah Kancey's 32-yard touchdown return and a 17-0, second-quarter advantage.

Rookie Monroe Freeling, who started in place of Moton during the first four games, replaced the seven-year veteran and likely will start Thursday night against the host Green Bay Packers.
Moton inked a two-year, $44 contract extension in August 2025. While he is signed through 2028, his guarenteed money ends after next season.
In the meantime, Freeling, the Panthers' 2026 first-round draft pick, will get another chance to solidfy his presence in the starting lineup.
