Golden State Warriors General Manager Mike Dunleavy Jr. has revealed how concerned the team are about Steph Curry’s knee injury that kept him out of action for 27 consecutive games last season.

The 38-year-old suffered from patellofemoral pain syndrome, commonly referred to as runner’s knee in the second part of the season. He spent almost two months on the sidelines, only returning to action in April.
In his absence, the Warriors struggled and had a 9-18 record, which made many wonder if the same problem would reoccur again.
Mike Dunleavy confirms Curry is in a ‘good spot’
The Warriors are already expecting to not have Kristaps Porzingis, Jimmy Butler and Moses Moody to start off their season.
If Curry were to be ruled out of action, things would be difficult for the Warriors. However, the GM and Curry have both confirmed the knee is better now.
“He’s had a really good summer in that regard. I think he’s trained a little bit differently than he has, but I think he’s in a good spot for a build-up here to the season,” said Dunleavy
Despite him not having any concerns, the General Manager confirmed the team would be extra careful.
“Look, I mean, at 38, you probably got a lot of things going on, and so it’s something we’ll be mindful of. We’re on top of it. We’ll have to manage it throughout the year, but overall we feel like Steph can play at an incredibly high level,” he added.
“It’s just being mindful game to game, week to week of how he’s doing, and we’ll go from there.”
Curry was also asked about his knee, and he kept the answer simple by saying, “”Knee’s feeling great. Ready to go. No issues.”
The four-time champion is going into the season after having signed a two-year $116 million extension.
Many have already counted out the Warriors’ chances of making the playoffs, but Curry still has faith in the roster.
He averaged 26 points last season, while shooting 39.3% from three-point range. If he puts up similar numbers, and manages to stay healthy, the Dubs could surprise teams in the West.
