Arsenal Women boss Renee Slegers insists she is not worried about her side’s confidence after their 1-0 defeat to Chelsea.
The Gunners were beaten by Alyssa Thompson’s first-half goal at Stamford Bridge, with Slegers urging her players to stay calm and avoid overcomplicating things despite another frustrating result.

“Worried, no, and confidence is something that fluctuates,” Slegers said.
“They know who they are and they know what they can bring.
“And what’s important is there’s always phases in the season and there’s different things you need to work on or focus on.”
Slegers believes the key now is to take pressure away from her players and trust them to rediscover their cutting edge in front of goal.
“It’s important that we keep any pressure and any complexity away from the players because we believe in them and they can be ruthless in front of goal and they can score,” she added.
“So it’s just really important that we keep that simplicity and clear heads, clear minds for the players.”
