The Nebraska Cornhuskers are currently undefeated after a 3-0 start against two MAC opponents and North Dakota, an FCS school. With that accomplished, they can safely and finally turn their attention to the Big 10 for the remainder of the season.

They begin the journey against Michigan State in East Lansing before returning to Lincoln to take on the Maryland Terrapins. They are very like to to be favored in both contests and did manage to defeat both last season. After that?
A throw-down with the 2025-6 College Football Playoff Champion Indiana Hoosiers, and who thought we’d ever live in a timeline where one would ever use that label in a sentence without first entering a transfer portal to an alternate universe.
It all began with the hiring ultra-successful James Madison head coach Curt Cignetti. He stomped definantly into Big 10 country saying things like, “It’s pretty simple. I win. Google me,” and “We kick ass and take names,” and on his easy non-conference games, “They count.”
He proved it where Nebraska was concerned when the Huskers rolled into Bloomington in 2024 with a 5-1 record and left humbled after being bloodied to the tune of 56-7, methodically taken apart for four straight quarters.
Since taking over, Cignetti and Indiana are currently 31-2 and will likely enter the Nebraska game undefeated and firmly planted in the Top 5.
Which brings us to this week’s question – will the Huskers enter the contest undefeated as well?
Yes, they are expected to win their next two games, but Husker fans have watched things go horribly wrong as favorites in the last several years. On the other hand, this squad has a different feel to it, doesn’t it?
