Florida A&M football faces a tall task when it faces the Miami Hurricanes this Thursday, Sept. 10.

Kickoff is at 8 p.m. at Hard Rock Stadium in Miami Gardens on the ACC Network.

The Rattlers enter the Week 2 money game with a 1-1 record, losing to the defending Black College National Champions, South Carolina State, 31-13 in the Orange Blossom Classic last Sunday, Sept. 6, at Hard Rock Stadium. FAMU was dominated at the line of scrimmage and allowed 292 rushing yards.

Meanwhile, the Hurricanes, the College Football Playoffs defending runners-up, are 1-0 after dominating Stanford 45-6 last Friday, Sept. 4. Sophomore wide receiver Malachi Toney had a program record-setting day with 234 receiving yards, adding 12 catches and three touchdowns.

FAMU is a member of the NCAA Division I Football Championship Subdivision, and is 1-35 against Football Bowl Subdivision teams. The Rattlers’ lone FBS win came against Miami in 1979, 16-13, at Doak Campbell Stadium in Tallahassee.

FAMU head coach Quinn Fordham Gray Sr. will be previewing the Rattlers-Hurricanes Thursday night football matchup on the Southwestern Athletic Conference coaches call on Tuesday, Sept. 8. He’ll speak at 11:45 a.m.
