NASHUA — Alex Brandt scored on an assist from Stella Hoium as Portsmouth High School girls soccer team opened its season with a 1-1 tie against Nashua South on Saturday, Aug. 29.

"An amazing effort today from all the girls on a very hot pitch," Portsmouth coach Rick Hugener.
Brooke Ford and Molly Flynn both played well for Portsmouth, while goalie Abby Craig had five saves.
