Sewell was carted off the field, surrounded by his Bears teammates as the cart drove him away.
"Hopefully there's good news to come there," Bengals TV play-by-play announcer Mike Watts said during the broadcast. "Certainly a scary moment."
Sewell has played in 30 games over the past four seasons for the New Orleans Saints.
He is the brother of Bears teammate Noah Sewell, and Detroit Lions offensive lineman Penei Sewell.
Earlier in the week, a Twitter/X account with more than 460,000 followers took a shot at the Bengals over Bears quarterback Caleb Williams and the having-to-cross-the-street-to-get-to-practice thing, and many rushed in the replies to the Bengals' defense.
A Dexter Lawrence interception of Williams was among highlights of the teams' joint practice near Paycor Stadium.
After the practice, Williams sounded impressed with Lawrence and the Bengals' revamped defense.
