Good Morning, Illini Nation: Another five-star visitor

Aug. 23—The number of five-star visitors expected in Champaign this fall continues to grow. The latest? Five-star forward Moussa Kamissoko, who is scheduled for an official visit in less than a month. The Class of 2027 standout is set to be on campus the third weekend of September.

Kamissoko's trip to Champaign will make for four five-star visitors this fall. Also expected are Class of 2027 guard NaVorro Bowman Jr., Class of 2028 (for now) guard Brady Pettigrew and Class of 2027 center Darius Wabbington.

Kamissoko played a Trinity-Pawling School (N.Y.) as a freshman in 2023-24 before transferring to Long Island Lutheran (N.Y.) ahead of his sophomore year. He averaged 12.2 points on 53/30/82 shooting this past season for the Crusaders in 15 Nike EYBL Scholastic League games and added 6.3 rebounds and 2.5 assists per game.

This spring and summer saw Kamissoko run with PSA Cardinals on Nike's EYBL circuit. The 6-foot-7 wing put up 16.3 points per game on 51/35/70 shooting while also averaging 7.2 rebounds, 2.5 assists and 1.4 steals.

Kamissoko's visit to Illinois is one of nine he'll make this fall. His other stops include Florida State, Syracuse, Virginia, Oklahoma State, Connecticut, Louisville, BYU and Baylor.
