Another NCAA Tournament awaiting the women? As for the women, head coach Chris MacKenzie will lead his team into the new season with hopes of returning to the NCAA Tournament. The Huskies finished 28-9-2 (17-6-1 Hockey East) in 2025-26.
After defeating top-seeded Northeastern 2-1 in double overtime to win the conference tournament last season, the Huskies fell to Penn State 3-0 in an NCAA regional final.
Both UConn hockey teams will be chasing an NCAA tournament championship trophy, like this one won by the Wisconsin women in 2023. The Badgers are a perennial power, winning three of the past four championships and five since 2019. Mark Stewart/Milwaukee Journal Sentinel/USA TODAY NETWORKThis season’s edition of the Huskies will begin play in just about a month with two games at St. Cloud State on Sept. 25 and 26. The home opener follows against Clarkson on Oct. 2 and 3.
