Vinatieri inducted into Pro Football Hall of Fame

SIOUX FALLS, S.D. (KELO) — Five of some of the best professional football players were inducted into the Pro Football Hall of Fame on Saturday, including South Dakota native Adam Vinatieri.
Vinatieri played 24 seasons in the NFL, ten for the New England Patriots and 14 with the Indianapolis Colts, winning four Super Bowl Rings across his career. The kicker is the NFL’s all-time leading scorer and holds records for field goals made, most postseason points, consecutive field goals made, and overtime field goals made. Vinatieri chose Colts owner Carlie Irsay-Gordon to to present him into the class of 2026.

“For so many years, football, you were the mountain that I chose to climb,” Vinatieri said in his induction speech. “Today, standing at the summit, I finally understand what the climb was really about. It was never just reaching the top. It was the view you gave me along the way.”
