Illini volleyball head coach Chris Tamas inks extension through 2028-29Head coach Chris Tamas was joined by setter Kenna Phelan and libero Vivian Campbell to break down the 2026 season, which includes a shortened conference schedule to make way for an inaugural Big Ten Tournament.
The Illini return several players who have gained experience over the last season, which Tamas hopes will make a difference on the court.
“I think last year we were maybe a little bit shy on that or maybe just a little inconsistent,” Tamas said. “We had a lot of youth, a lot of inexperience that weren’t quite used to those big moments. And, you know, that kind of bit us there at the end of the season.”
Illinois’ season begins on August 28 against Cincinnati.
