After the restricted free agent signed an offer sheet with the Grizzlies on Monday, the Golden State Warriors had to decide whether they wanted to match the contract and retain him.

They've made up their mind, and their decision is going to allow Post to land with Memphis.

"The Golden State Warriors decided not to match Quinten Post's three-year, $30 million offer sheet with the Grizzlies, allowing the 7-footer to join Memphis, sources tell ESPN," NBA insider Shams Charania wrote on X. "The Grizzlies add Post to a reshaped frontline that includes No. 3 pick Cameron Boozer, Zach Edey, Isaiah Stewart and Jerami Grant."

Post leaves the Warriors after two seasons with the team, a tenure in which he established himself as a solid NBA big.

Originally a second-round pick, he came into the league as a rookie in the 2024-25 season and was quickly productive thanks in large part to his 3-point shooting ability. He averaged 8.1 points, 3.5 rebounds and 1.3 assists per game while knocking down 44.9 percent of his shots from the field and 40.8 percent of his shots from deep.

The Warriors even trusted him enough to give him some playoff minutes in his rookie season, as he appeared in 12 postseason games and made two starts.

Then, as a sophomore, his role expanded, with Golden State plugging him into the starting lineup somewhat often. He followed up his rookie campaign by averaging 7.7 points, 4.0 rebounds and 1.4 assists per contest.

Post is a loss for the Warriors, who certainly did a nice job of nabbing him in the draft and helping him become a strong NBA piece. NBA insider Jake Fischer noted previously that the Grizzlies' offer sheet for Post included some contract provisions that were likely going to make it hard for the Warriors to match the deal.

The 26-year-old will now get a chance to join a Memphis squad that is entering a new era after drafting Boozer with the No. 3 overall pick this year. As the Grizzlies look to turn a corner, Post is set to be part of it, though it's worth noting that only the first year of his deal with Memphis is fully guaranteed.

The Boston College product is a nice success story at the NBA level and has turned his journey into a big payday. Now, the Grizzlies will hope to reap the benefits.
