Boise State reveals 11-foot statue honoring Saints coach Kellen Moore

Now this is cool. Kellen Moore became the winningest quarterback in college football history at Boise State, and now the New Orleans Saints head coach is being honored with a statue. The completed bronze sculpture will stand 11 feet tall (a clever nod to the No. 11 jersey Moore wore into his 50-3 record with the Broncos) and greet fans at the northeast entrance of Albertsons Stadium in Boise.

Before he was hired to coach the Saints and established himself as a hotshot play caller with the Dallas Cowboys, Los Angeles Chargers, and Philadelphia Eagles, Moore was one of the most respected names in college football. Moore helped elevate the Broncos from a school known for slaying giants to becoming a West Coast powerhouse in their own right. It's fitting that the statue will be installed just before they join the rebooted Pac-12 during the 2026 season.

And it's a startling likeness to Moore, too. Sculpted by Boise-based artist Ben Victor -- a big name in his own field with four works featured at the National Statuary Hall in the United States Congress -- the sculpture captures Moore's features and signature left-handed throwing motion. Some eagle-eyed Broncos fans noted that he never wore the specific combination of helmet model, jersey, and pants into a game for Boise State, but if anything that's some fun trivia to tuck away for game day. Stay tuned for information on when the statue will be unveiled and what Moore himself has to say about it.
