The Virginia Tech Hokies are red hot. On Sunday, head coach James Franklin and wide receivers coach Fontel Mines landed a commitment from four-star WR Cam Wade (Leesburg, Va.). That was only the start of things on another busy weekend in Blacksburg.

On the heels of Wade’s commitment, Virginia Tech landed another prize when four-star cornerback Bryce Woods picked the Hokies. Woods, a 6-foot-1, 180-pound prospect from College Park, Georgia, plays high school football at the Woodward Academy. He picked VT over Ohio State, Auburn, North Carolina, and others.

Woods is a consensus four-star recruit, with 247Sports ranking him as the No. 27 cornerback in the country for 2027 and the No. 20 overall player in Georgia.

Why did Woods choose Virginia Tech?

“They recruited me hard and stayed in constant contact throughout the spring,” Woods told Chad Simmons of Rivals. “I’ve gotten close with (cornerbacks) Coach (Nick) Perry because he recruited me at Arkansas and Coach Vic (Hall), the Nickels coach.“

Woods was also in Blacksburg this weekend for his official visit.

Here are some highlights of Woods from his junior season.
