The Green Bay Packers dealt with a lot of injuries last year, including a serious knee injury to their prized 2025 offseason addition.

Edge rusher Micah Parsons suffered a devastating torn ACL during the Packers' Week 15 loss to the Denver Broncos last season. Prior to the injury, Parsons tallied 12.5 sacks and 79 quarterback pressures in 14 games, showcasing why Green Bay traded a haul to acquire him from the Dallas Cowboys.

Parsons has been rehabbing the torn ACL, and mostly everything has gone smoothly so far. The 27-year-old provided a major update on the injury on Wednesday, and may have just revealed when he'll be back.

Parsons still has four more months of rehab

While speaking to the media on Wednesday, Parsons stated that he has four months left of rehab, as the Packers have a strict rule that doesn't allow players to participate in football activities until nine months after a significant injury, such as a torn ACL.

Parsons also added that he had a procedure on his meniscus.

"Five months into his ACL rehab, Micah Parsons said he has four more months to go, saying that they have a strict nine-month rule especially for players who had more than just the ACL tear, revealing that he also had a meniscus procedure," Rob Demovsky of ESPN said on X.

Parsons is likely going to land on the PUP list to start the season, and as of right now, all signs point to a mid-October return for the All-Pro pass rusher.

"Packers star Micah Parsons makes clear that he'll begin the 2026 season on the PUP list, offering a target of mid-October until he's on the field. With a long career ahead, no shortcuts," NFL Network's Ian Rapoport said on X.

A targeted October return means Parsons is guaranteed to miss Green Bay's first three games against the Minnesota Vikings and New York Jets, and versus the Atlanta Falcons.

It also looks unlikely that Parsons will be available for the Packers' Week 4 matchup against the Tampa Bay Buccaneers on October 4. Green Bay will take on the Chicago Bears at Lambeau Field in Week 5 on October 11, which could be Parsons' first game back.

However, the next week after Chicago, the Packers will host the Dallas Cowboys, Parsons' former team, on Sunday Night Football. That would be an epic return game for the dynamic edge rusher.

Overall, Parsons looks to be doing well in his rehab and should be back on the field for Green Bay within the first two months of the 2026 season.
