Gladbach confirm signing of Ukrainian international

Yukhym Konoplia is officially a Borussia Mönchengladbach player, having signed a contract until the summer of 2029 with Die Fohlen.

The Bundesliga club confirmed on Friday that the 26-year-old Ukrainian international will make the switch to Germany on a free transfer from Shakhtar Donetsk.
“Yukhym is a physically strong full-back who is always ready to give his all,” said Gladbach head of sports Rouven Schröder.
“He is able to bring plenty of experience and leadership qualities to the table, which he’s gained as a regular starter for the reigning Ukrainian champions, including in the Champions League and with the national team.”
The 26-year-old right-back expressed his excitement about the move to the Bundesliga.
“I’m looking forward to joining Borussia. They are a big club with a rich history and incredible fans,” Konoplia said.
“I can’t really describe how I’m feeling at the moment. It will take a few days before it’s all sunk in properly. But, I’m definitely looking forward to enjoying my time at Borussia.”
