Defender Ouahabi to leave Manchester City

Manchester City defender Leila Ouahabi will leave the club when her contract expires next month.

WSL Full-Time were informed of the news via an official media update from The Cityzens this morning.

The 33-year-old Spanish international full-back joined Manchester City from FC Barcelona in summer 2022. Ouahabi has gone on to establish herself as a fans’ favourite, making 105 appearances for The Cityzens in all competitions. The defender has helped the club to win a first Barclays Women’s Super League title in a decade this season.

After her Manchester City departure was announced, Ouahabi said “It hasn’t been an easy decision, but I felt it was time to close this chapter, think about myself and make the best decision for my future.

“It’s been four very good years in Manchester, but it’s inevitable to feel sad when you’re leaving a place that feels like your home.

“I will always keep an eye on City’s results and I will always be just another fan.”

Ouahabi will get one final opportunity to collect another medal as a Manchester City player this weekend. The Cityzens end the 2026/2027 season with an Adobe Women’s FA Cup final clash against Brighton & Hove Albion at Wembley.
