Top Arizona boys track and field athletes
1. Kelson Hogan, Tempe Corona del Sol, throws, Jr.
He won the javelin with a throw of 214 feet, 8 inches at the Division I championships on May 7, breaking his previous official state record in the event and moving up to No. 6 in the United States.
2. Ryder Hall, Snowflake, jumps/hurdles, Sr.
He won the high jump (6-7), long jump (22-7), triple jump (46-2) and 110-meter hurdles (13.99 seconds) state titles at the Division IV championships on May 9, running the No. 3 time in the state for the 110-hurdles and helping lead Snowflake to the team championship.
3. Tasimania “TJ” Gallahar, Chandler Arizona College Prep, jumps/sprints, Sr.
He won the long jump (24-0.25), 100 (10.86) and 200 (21.85) state titles at the Division II championships on May 9, setting the state lead in the long jump.
4. Sanel Eminovic, Glendale Mountain Ridge, hurdles, Sr.
He won the 110 (13.86) and 300-meter hurdles (37.59) state titles at the Division I championships on May 9, setting the state lead for the 110-hurdles.
5. Tyree McSwain, Gilbert Williams Field, sprints, Sr.
He won the 400 state title at the Division I championships on May 9, running 47.43 to set the state lead in the event.
6. Crew Comish, Mesa Red Mountain, distance, Jr.
He won the 1,600 (4:17.40) and 3,200 (9:13.17) state titles and finished fourth in the 800 (1:55.30) at the Division I championships on May 9, running the No. 9 time in the state for the 3,200 and helping lead Red Mountain to the team championship.
7. Ryker Montgomery, Gilbert Campo Verde, throws, Sr.
He won the shot put (52-6.5) and discus (177-6) state titles at the Division II championships on May 9, helping lead Campo Verde to the team championship.
8. Troy Haymore, ALA Queen Creek, sprints/mid-distance, Jr.
He won the 400 (49.41) and 800 (1:54.28) state titles at the Division III championships on May 9, helping lead ALA Queen Creek to the team championship.
9. Drew Pollard, Gilbert Campo Verde, throws, Sr.
He won the javelin (193-3) state title and finished second in the shot put (51-11) at the Division II championships on May 9, helping lead Campo Verde to the team championship.
10. Beckham Goodman, ALA Queen Creek, sprints, Sr.
He won the 200 (21.47) state title and finished third in the 100 (10.81) at the Division III championships on May 9, helping lead ALA Queen Creek to the team championship.
11. Jett Merrill, Oro Valley Ironwood Ridge, hurdles/jumps, Jr.
He won the 110 (13.94) and 300-meter hurdles (38.11) and long jump (22-6.5) state titles at the Division III championships on May 9.
12. Yohanes Van Meerten, Flagstaff, distance, Jr.
He won the 1,600 (4:15.29) and 3,200 (9:02.92) state titles at the Division III championships on May 9.
13. Troy Babineaux, Goodyear Estrella Foothills, sprints, Sr.
He won the 100 (10.60) state title at the Division III championships on May 9, running the No. 3 time in the state.
14. Elijah Soanes, Gilbert Higley, jumps, Jr.
He won the long jump (23-11) state title at the Division I championships on May 9, moving up to No. 3 in the state.
15. Zack Rich, Glendale Prep, sprints/mid-distance, Sr.
He won the 800 (1:57.46) state title, finished seventh in the 400 (52.51) and anchored the winning 4x400 (3:25.98) and 4x800-meter relay teams (8:18.93), helping lead Glendale Prep to the team championship.
