Teams split matches in CVAC tennis

CHAMPLAIN — NCCS and NAC met Monday at the net and both walked away with wins in tennis.

The Bobcats took a 3-2 victory in boys’ tennis, as they won three doubles matches.
In singles, however, Kaze Carpenter and Ben Bresnahan won in straight sets at the No. 1 and No. 2 positions, respectively.
NAC grabbed three points as Shane Gilmore and Kameron Chinchilla at No.1, Brycen LaBombard and Jake Manor at No. 2, and Milo Wilson and Corbin Darmour in the No. 3 won competitive matches. Two of three matches — the No. 2 and No. 3 — went three sets.
On the girls’ side, it was a complete 5-0 sweep for NCCS.
Allie Langlois and Talia Peryer won the singles matches at No. 1 and No. 2, respectively.
The doubles matches went in straight sets as Lucy Hicks and Shai Juneau at No. 1, Alexa Gregory and Tenley Peryer at No. 2, and Lexi Arno and Grace Prairie won at No. 3.

Spartans, Patriots split
CLINTONVILLE — The Spartans and Patriots split their match with the Saranac boys and AuSable girls getting wins.
In the boys’ matches, Pablo Ontanon and Rodrigo Del Moral grabbed straight set wins in the No. 1 and No. 2 singles, respectively.
The doubles match saw Jasper Girard and Isaac Couture win for Saranac in the No. 1 position.
The girls’ matches were highly competitive as AuSable won 3-2.
The singles matches went three sets each.
The Patriots got points from Ava Belzile in the No. 1 singles match, Veronica and Becca Uss in the No. 1 doubles match, and Abi Debusk and Aubrey Aplin at No. 3 doubles.
Saranac received points in the No. 2 singles match as Kendra Mulverhill won. The Spartans’ other point came in the No. 2 doubles as Constanza Del Moral and Sydney Catton won in straight sets.

Hornets, Eagles draw
PLATTSBURGH — Plattsburgh and Beekmantown walked away with a match win each.
The Hornet boys and Eagle girls won with respective 4-1 and 5-0 scores.
For PHS, Ruhan Bamber and Patryk Klimkiewicz won the No. 1 and No. 2 singles matches, respectively.
The Hornets sealed the win with Owen Doorey and Aiden Drolette in the No. 2 doubles spot, followed by Kane Ready and Eli Wilson in the No. 3 doubles winning their matches.
Jackson Goodwin and Sonny Debella earned Beekmantown’s lone point, winning the No. 1 doubles match.
In girls’ play, the most entertaining match was between Beekmantown’s Robin Lesinski and Maddy Ventre against Plattsburgh’s Nour Bachawaty and Delaney Faucher in the No. 3 match. It went the full three sets as Lesinki and Ventre won 2-6, 6-3, 6-1.
The remainder of the matches went straight sets as Olivia and Carly Hagadorn won the No. 1 and No. 2 singles matches.
Julia and Lucy Conroy won the No. 1 doubles match, and Sawyer Fleming and Jade Burdo wrapped up the sweep winning the No. 2 doubles match.

Nighthawks sweep
LAKE PLACID — Peru got wins in both matches against Lake Placid.
The boys won 5-0 with the girls capturing a 3-2 victory over the Bombers.
Peru’s Collin Powers at the No. 1 boys’ singles won in straight sets.
As did the No. 1, No. 2 and No. 3 doubles teams of Isaac Hathaway and Camden Sweeney, Evan Brubach and Cogan St. Denis, and Gavin Sypek and Augustus Kingsley-Ryan.
The girls’ matches saw Lake Placid win both singles matches with Fiona Sullivan defeating Josie Sabella in straight sets to win the No. 1. The No. 2 match was a PCS forfeit giving Raquel Arreaza the win.
The Nighthawks would win the three doubles matches to win the match.
Madison Mero and Alexis Burdo at No. 1, Mia Winters and Brooke Taptick at No. 2, and Ada Ross and Avery Alterie at No. 3 won their matches in straight sets.
