Today we discovered the match officials line-up for this crucial encounter and as usual the Scottish FA choices seem to always involve at least one known supporter of the Ibrox clubs. This weekend we have Nick Walsh with the whistle while David Dickinson will be on VAR duties, and his own allegiances are very well known.

Last weekend John Beaton (yes, you’ve guessed it) couldn’t bring himself to point to the spot to award a penalty to Celtic despite having the best view on the stadium of the pull back on Daizen Maeda to deny a goalscoring opportunity. For his second Celtic game in a row Beaton was forced to go to the monitor by the VAR team before, with the greatest of reluctance, having to point to the spot.
The look on Beaton’s face was akin to him just realising that he had trod on something extremely unpleasant. It’s a hard life being a football fan with a whistle.
Hearts and the Rangers both play on Saturday with the Tynecastle outfit at home to Dundee in a 3pm kick-off while Aberdeen visit Ibrox to take on the Rangers with that one having a 5.45pm kick-off. Hopefully one or better still both drop some points before Celtic’s Sunday lunchtime revenge mission against Jim Goodwin’s side at Tannadice.
Dundee United ran out 2-1 winners over Celtic in December when Wilfried Nancy was in The Celtic dugout. That was also the night that The Celtic support turned on the Frenchman, telling him exactly where they wanted him to go.

One to look out for at this match is the chance for the Green Brigade and Bhoys Celtic to sit right next to the Celtic Board. Last time it was extremely entertaining then we had that fabricated story in the tabloids accusing a Celtic supporter of brandishing a knife while standing next to a row of Police officers.

Of course there was no knife but a chance to kick Celtic supporters isn’t to be missed by the mainstream hacks. Wonder who they support?
