Seattle Seahawks on X confirmed the organization’s intention to move forward with a sale following Super Bowl 60.
The decision comes years after the passing of longtime owner Paul Allen, with his estate previously indicating that the franchise would eventually be sold in line with his wishes.
The Seahawks remain one of the NFL’s more stable and competitive organizations, boasting a strong fanbase, a modern stadium, and a history of sustained success.
With NFL valuations climbing rapidly and recent franchise sales setting record benchmarks, the Seahawks’ availability immediately places them among the most valuable sports assets currently on the market.
Adam Schefter sets $7 billion floor for Seattle Seahawks sale
Adam Schefter wasted little time weighing in on what the Seattle Seahawks could fetch. The Pat McAfee Show on X shared his comments on the team’s potential valuation.
“People were estimating that the Seahawks could be sold for $7 billion. I had somebody in NFL ownership tell me that the Seahawks think they could sell for $10 billion,” Schefter said.
Schefter’s claim highlights just how inflated NFL franchise values have become. The Washington Commanders were sold for $6.05 billion in 2023, setting a then-record for a North American sports franchise.
Since then, league revenues have continued to rise through media deals, international expansion, and playoff format changes.
If competitive bidding emerges, the Seahawks could challenge previous benchmarks. With a loyal Pacific Northwest market and consistent brand strength, the sale price may ultimately reflect not just performance on the field but the NFL’s broader financial momentum.
