Brissett is going through the 11th season of his NFL career, his first with the Ravens. He started the 2026 campaign with the Cardinals, starting in the first eight games before the team benched him for Gardner Minshew. Demoting him down to QB3, Arizona ultimately decided to send him to Baltimore this week.
Brissett enters an intriguing situation with his new chapter in Baltimore. The Ravens are dealing with injuries at quarterback, seeing Lamar Jackson on injured reserve and Tyler Huntley being out for the season. NFL insider Ian Rapoport provided his thoughts on Brissett’s status, seeing him to be on pace to be the starter in Week 10.

“Jacoby Brissett would have a couple extra days to study and get used to this Ravens offensive, learn a little bit, and then make the start next week. Yeah, a very unusual situation,” Rapoport said on NFL GameDay Kickoff.
“Remember, Brissett was benched in Arizona, making him expendable. If he comes over at about $5 million, a little more in salary, the Arizona Cardinals and the Ravens will basically split that. It still should be done tomorrow, and then once again, the Ravens will have a new starting quarterback one that has familiarity with the system because Brissett and Israel Wilfork, the quarterback’s coach, were together in Arizona. We will see if the Ravens can keep things afloat.”
