Premier League GW10 Begins on Friday November 6
Everton vs Coventry
Gameweek 10 kicks off on Friday, November 6, with Everton hosting Coventry. Everton climbed to seventh in the league after their battling 1-0 win away at Newcastle last time out, with Thierno Barry scoring the vital goal. Coventry had lost two in a row, but returned to winning ways with a much-needed 3-1 win against Sunderland.
David Moyes was asked during his press conference if the Jack Grealish situation could be resolved over the international break: “We’ll see,” said Moyes. The Everton boss also confirmed that Jarrad Branthwaite is ok after his cramp at Newcastle, with Everton nursing the defender along.
Moyes also spoke on the recent good form of Kiernan Dewsbury-Hall, remarking he hopes he gets picked for England, but will be happy if he just keeps performing well for his club.
Coventry boss Frank Lampard spoke to the press in the build-up, but didn’t give much away on the fitness of Bobby Thomas and Frank Onyeka. He did confirm that Josh Eccles and Luke Wolfenden are “back on the grass but very tentative.” Lampard wouldn’t be drawn on an exact timeline for their return.
Speaking to the press, Lampard spoke on the importance of Ethan Pinnock: “He’s been outstanding. I’ve followed Ethan’s career for a long time. I was at Derby and I was interested at that point but we weren’t able to get him. But I’ve followed his career since then. Ethan has delivered his experience in a really calm manner, he’s got this really nice demeanour about him on and off the pitch.”
Prediction: Everton 2-0 Coventry
Leeds vs Tottenham
In the 12:30 kick-off on November 6, Leeds host in-form Tottenham, who have won their last three games, including a rare away win against Chelsea. Leeds started the season in good form, but are now winless in five league games and will be eager to pick up three points before the international break.
Daniel Farke spoke to the press ahead of Tottenham’s visit, where he confirmed Joe Rodon has returned to full team training, as he edges closer to his return from injury. Farke did confirm that Noah Okafor and Anton Stach are “major doubts” for the Spurs game, with both missing training this week due to injury.
Despite a setback with a foot injury, Farke is carefully optimistic that Dominic Calvert-Lewin will be able to train before the Spurs game. Farke will be able to call upon James Justin and Gabriel Gudmundsson, who have both recovered from knocks.
According to Tom Allnutt of The Times, Xavi Simons is ahead of schedule and will be reintegrated with his teammates at training later this month. The skilful Dutchman has been missing since rupturing his anterior cruciate ligament (ACL) against Wolverhampton Wanderers in April, and his return would be a huge boost for Spurs boss Roberto De Zerbi.
Centre-back Tosin Adarabioyo and midfield duo Lucas Bergvall and Rodrigo Bentancur look set to return for the trip to Leeds this weekend.
Prediction: Leeds 1-1 Tottenham

Fulham vs Newcastle
In our first look at the 15:00 kick-off on November 7, Fulham hosts Newcastle United. The West London club were unlucky earlier this season, losing games where they deserved more, but are unbeaten in their last three league games, while Newcastle sit two positions and two points ahead of Fulham, having lost 1-0 to Everton last time out.
In the build-up to the visit of Newcastle, Fulham boss Alvaro Arbeloa spoke to the press about his belief that his team are on the right path:
“I think I would be more worried if we don’t create chances, but we are creating chances, so we need to keep believing in the way that we are playing,” said Arbeloa.
“We need to keep working on our finishing. It’s about creating chances, not conceding chances, and playing in the way that we believe, and I think we have done really well.
“We have a very difficult match [against Newcastle] on Saturday at home, and yes, we need to continue growing as a team, because we are just starting. I’m so happy and so proud of my players.”
Fulham have no significant injuries to report, and will welcome Ryan Sessegnon back from his three-game suspension, following his red card against Hull City.
Matthias Jaissle also met the press ahead of Saturday’s game, where he confirmed that Matias Fernandez-Pardo is “progressing and training with us again,” after suffering from a virus. Looking ahead to Pardo’s availability for the weekend, Jaissle revealed they “need to see against Fulham how he is in a physical state.”
Jaissle also said that Lewis Miley “showed a good reaction after [coming] back from injury” and that “progress is exactly how I expected and I wished for.”
In a setback for the squad, Jaissle added: “Joelinton unfortunately went out with an injury again and we need to make the final treatment plan for him and see how long he will be out.”
Prediction: Fulham 1-0 Newcastle
The Last Word: Premier League Predictions
Kicking off the weekend, Everton hosts Coventry, and their win last time out and home advantage will be key in this one, and I can see Moyes’ team pick up a big three points before the international break.
Leeds vs Tottenham will be spicy. The home side will make it physical and uncomfortable for the visitors, but De Zerbi’s team are in good form and finally look to be moving forward, with key players set to return from injury, including Xavi Simons.
Fulham vs Newcastle is a tough one to call, and it wouldn’t surprise me if it went either way. I just feel Fulham’s recent form will continue here, and they will gain a narrow win.
