At present, the Portland Trail Blazers are top of the Western Conference with a 6-1 record, followed by the Los Angeles Lakers in second place with 7-2.
In the Eastern Conference, the Philadelphia 76ers are in top spot and are the only team to have lost just once so far this season (8-1).
Now, Wright has been praising the 76ers, calling them the best team in the East.
He also said that while he does not think it will happen, a Finals meeting between the Lakers and Philadelphia would be ‘unbelievable’.
Wright said: “I know folks were expecting me to be overly pro-Sixers. I don’t think you can be overly pro-Sixers.
“LeBron is just like, ‘alright I’m in year 24, I’m 42, I guess I’ll regress into 32-year-old Magic Johnson’.
“Plus, really good defence, with respect to the defending champion Knicks, who they’ve beaten twice, I think the Sixers are the best team in the East.
“You then have Lakers vs Blazers and every Lakers game the story is what’s Luka going to do. In November, Luka has played three games. The Lakers are 3-0 and Luka is averaging 42-10-9.
“I don’t think it’ll be this but man, Lakers vs Sixers in the Finals would be unbelievable.”
