The College Football Playoff 13-person selection committee views the Ducks a little differently.

Oregon was No. 23 in the initial CFP ranking announced Nov. 3, meaning at the very least, the 5-3 Ducks remain in the conversation for a berth in the 12-team CFP come December.

Oregon was one of three teams in the CFP top 25 with three losses, with one of those defeats coming against No. 8 UCLA (8-0). The Ducks also have wins against No. 20 USC (7-2) and No. 25 Boise State (7-1). The Broncos are the only Group of Six team in the field, which would guarantee them, at worst, the No. 12 seed in the playoffs.

The only ranked team still on Oregon's schedule is No. 12 Ohio State (6-2). The Ducks and Buckeyes play at 12:30 p.m. Saturday in Columbus.
