After a lot of movement early in the season in the 2027 NFL Draft QB rankings, things are starting to settle as the calendar turns to November.

Drew Mestemaker is the clear No. 1 QB in this class, even if he ends up going back to school for another year to gain some more experience. Dante Moore, after starting the season as a clear top-five pick, now is surrounded by questions as his college career was cut short. The same, of course, goes for Brendan Sorsby.
But there are still some very impressive signal-callers that are rising up the rankings. LaNorris Sellers, after starting the season by falling down the rankings, is now rising back up and playing some of the best football of his South Carolina career. Austin Simmons has been arguably the fastest riser of the season, and he continued that with another strong game on Saturday.

Week 10 is one of the biggest slates in recent memory in college football, and there will be plenty of chances for all of these guys to make big statements over the weekend. Heading into that lineup of juicy games, how do the top 10 QBs in the upcoming NFL Draft shake out?
1. Drew Mestemaker, Oklahoma State
William Purnell-Imagn ImagesLast week: 1
Mestemaker got let down by his defense and a few bad decisions of his own on Saturday night, but he still finished with 323 yards and five touchdowns in a crazy 51-49 loss to Iowa State. That’s kind of the story with Mestemaker week in and week out at this point. Mestemaker can make all the throws, he is a great athlete, and all of that is on display every time he takes the field. But his inexperience costs him in a big way once or twice throughout the game, and sometimes that’s enough to cost the Cowboys and their defense the game.
2. Trinidad Chambliss, Ole Miss
Petre Thomas-Imagn ImagesLast week: 2
After a rough day at the office against Texas, Chambliss got back on track on Saturday with a three-touchdown day against Auburn in a 45-15 win. It was nice to see the Rebels lean back into using Chambliss as a runner, as he gashed the Tigers on a number of designed runs and finished with 65 yards and a score on the ground. Now, a big test awaits. Chambliss will welcome Georgia back to Oxford after torching the Bulldogs twice last season, including in the Sugar Bowl to end their season. Kirby Smart’s group will be very hungry, but that might not matter if the senior quarterback is on his game.
3. LaNorris Sellers, South Carolina

Sellers threw a pair of interceptions on Saturday, but it’s hard not to be enamored with his physical tools as he continues to marry that with good process as a passer and improved accuracy. Sellers finished with nearly 400 yards of offense and five touchdowns on the road against a very good Oklahoma defense in a 42-25 win, including 96 yards and two scores as a runner. He is one of the most explosive athletes in this class, regardless of position, and the playmaking bag that unlocks was on full display in this game.

Sellers will have to end up in the right situation in the NFL, preferably with an offensive coordinator that will allow him to use his legs and unlock his talent as a playmaker. But if he does, the sky is the limit for him.
4. Darian Mensah, Miami (FL)
Bob Donnan-Imagn ImagesLast week: 3
Mensah and the Miami offense had to bail out a shaky Hurricanes defense on Saturday night in a 38-35 win over North Carolina, and they did just that. The star quarterback finished 22-of-29 with 274 yards and three touchdowns, operating with the same precision, timing and accuracy that has him right in the middle of the Heisman Trophy discussion this season. Mensah also showed off his scrambling ability in this game, which he is capable of but doesn’t like to use often. He finished with 36 yards on the ground, and Miami might need more where that came from if it is going to keep its undefeated season going with a win over Notre Dame.
5. Austin Simmons, Missouri

The Missouri offense got off to a bit of a slow start on Saturday in a win over Arkansas, but Simmons’ arm talent was on full display. he finished 20-of-31 with 179 yards and two touchdowns in what ended up as a 34-10 win, but it was his throw of the year candidate that caught the attention of scouts and fans alike online.

Simmons still has some inconsistencies in his game, but he is the real deal from the pocket. There will be plenty of NFL teams willing to take a chance on a player who is willing and able to access all of the throws, even in tight windows, with real velocity and ball placement on a consistent basis.
6. C.J. Carr Notre Dame
Bob Donnan-Imagn ImagesLast week: 5
Carr and Notre Dame kicked it into gear when it mattered on Saturday despite a slow start against Navy, but that was more about the shortcomings of the defense than it was anything about Carr’s performance. But rhetorical fact of the matter is that Carr hasn’t been forced to be uncomfortable all that much this season, and the results were somewhat mixed in the Irish’s loss to BYU. On Saturday, he will surely have to rise up and put the offense on his back at times against No. 1 Miami.
7. Arch Manning, Texas
Scott Wachter-Imagn ImagesLast week: 6
Manning and Texas finally were able to breeze through a game, as they dismantled a Mississippi State team whose season has been derailed by the injury to Kamario Taylor. Manning had a solid, but unspectacular, game, finishing 16-of-20 with 220 yards and three touchdowns. The junior QB’s toughness and grit was on display, as he took a number of big hits but continued to lead the Longhorns offense up and down the field.
Now, Manning embarks on one of his toughest stretches of schedule yet. The Longhorns will go on the road to take on a Missouri team with a very good pass rush on Saturday, and then they will head to Death Valley for a date with LSU in Week 11. If he can excel against those two defenses, he could start to rise back up these rankings.
8. Dante Moore, Oregon
Ben Lonergan/The Register-Guard / USA TODAY NETWORK via Imagn ImagesLast week: 8
Moore will continue holding strong in this spot most likely, as there is a pretty steep tier gap between Manning at seven and Brendan Sorsby at nine. His career in college is very likely over, but Moore still has plenty of arm talent and a lot of good tape in 2025 that teams can go back to. His ability to play with pressure in his face will remain a question all the way up to the draft.
9. Brendan Sorsby
Jerome Miron-Imagn ImagesLast week: 10
Sorsby is in a similar spot to Moore, as some quarterbacks have risen firmly above him while others have fallen far below. It seems unlikely that he will move far from this spot either way over the rest of the season. Of course, how he handles the pre-draft process and addresses his gambling scandal will be key in how high teams are willing to take him.
10. Kenny Minchey, Kentucky
Jeff Blake-Imagn ImagesLast week: NR
Minchey makes his debut in these rankings as one of the biggest risers of the season for Will Stein’s resurgent Kentucky program. Minchey nearly beat out C.J. Carr for the starting job at Notre Dame before last season, and this year he is showing why he made that battle so competitive. He conducts the Kentucky offense very well and runs Stein’s system almost perfectly. On top of that, Minchey is an effective playmaker who is additive to the explosiveness of the Kentucky attack as the Wildcats chase a CFP berth.
