Matthew Tkachuk had another big night, assisting on four goals — giving him three multi-point games this month.

Brady Tkachuk scored to make it 5-1 off a nice pass from Matthew and had a three-point night.

Seth Jones had three assists; Niko Mikkola had a goal and an assist.

Akira Schmid won for the second straight game, making 24 saves.

GAMEDAY NOTES: PANTHERS at JETS

  • Matthew Tkachuk became the ninth player in Panthers history to record 200 assists with the franchise and is the fastest to do so in franchise history (255 games). The previous record was held by Keith Yandle who did it in 369 games. With 203, he passed Yandle for seventh place on the team’s all-time list.
  • Seth Jones factored on each of Florida’s first three goals and has a goal with 15 points in October. He became the fourth different Panthers defenseman with 14 or more assists in a single month alongside Yandle (twice, once with 15), Aaron Ekblad (14 in 2022), and Bryan McCabe (14 in 2010).
  • Jones also tied the franchise record with three assists by a d-man in a single period. He has done it two other times. The others: McCabe and Radko Gudas.
  • Carter Verhaeghe now has 355 goals with the Panthers, passing Scott Mellanby for seventh place on the franchise’s all-time list.
  • Sam Reinhart recorded his 395th point with the Panthers and surpassed Stephen Weiss for fifth place on the franchise’s all-time list.
HOW THEY SCORED
  • Panthers 1, Jets 0 (7:27 1st PP): Carter Verhaeghe gets the Panthers going by shoveling a backhander from down low off a rebound.
  • Panthers 2, Jets 0 (8:42 1st): Niko Mikkola tries to send a cross-ice pass from the side of the left circle but, oops, it hits the stick of defenseman Mario Ferraro instead and goes past goalie Clay Stevenson.
  • Panthers 3, Jets 0 (10:18 1st PP): Verhaeghe gets another one, this one from way downtown with a beaut of a shot from the high slot.
  • Panthers 3, Jets 1 (12:56 2nd SH): While on the kill, Adam Lowry swings around Akira Schmid and pokes in the wraparound.
  • Panthers 4, Jets 1 (13:14 2nd PP): The Panthers came right back, Matthew feeding Brady Tkachuk who finds Sam Reinhart in the slot.
  • Panthers 5, Jets 1 (12:10 3rd): Matthew feeds a hard-charging Brady for the deflection to ice this one for the Panthers.
