‘She deserves respect’: Swifties not happy after NFL team mocks Taylor Swift

The Seattle Seahawks handed the Kansas City Chiefs their first loss of the season on Sunday night, and then decided to take a shot at Travis Kelce’s wife, Taylor Swift. As you might expect, the Swifties were not too happy about it.
After the 20-3 win, the Seahawks posted a friendship bracelet that read “Seahawks Win,” with a caption referencing one of Swift’s songs. And plenty of Swift fans were quick to voice their displeasure on social media.

The Seahawks’ Troll
Seattle’s defense dominated Kansas City on Sunday Night Football, holding the Chiefs to just 213 total yards in the game.
Swift appeared to skip the game, as she was not shown on the NBC broadcast, according to the New York Post. However, that didn’t stop the Seahawks from mocking her and Kelce after the game.
Following the win, the team’s official account shared a photo of a friendship bracelet spelling out “Seahawks Win,” with the caption “End Game,” a track from Swift’s 2017 album reputation.

The post was a reference to the friendship bracelets Swift’s fans traded at her Eras Tour concerts. It’s also a subtle reference to the couple’s love story, since Kelce famously tried to give Swift a bracelet with his number on it at one of her shows in 2023, as ESPN noted.
‘Leave Taylor Out Of This’
Needless to say, the loyal and passionate Swifties were not too fond of the Seahawks taking a shot at Taylor.
“Why do y’all think it’s okay to troll a team by using the spouse of an opposing player? This wouldn’t be acceptable if she wasn’t Taylor Swift. She deserves respect just like every other player’s spouse,” one fan wrote.
“The disrespect is why I hate other teams, make it a chief pun, but why Taylor why a spouse, they wouldn’t make fun of Claire Kittle or Kelly [Stafford] so why is this okay?” another fan wrote.
“whether you think it’s cute or not. why are we bringing players significant others into this? taylor did not play, she wasn’t even there and you use her song as a caption,” another fan added.
“Sorry but this is not it and other teams were called out this one cant be the exception, Taylor has nothing to do with this beyond being married to Travis,” another Swift fan wrote.
“And while I was rooting for you guys last year just like that my respect for you is gone. Hope rest of your season sucks bc this is just tasteless,” one fan replied.
“Seattle on the hatewatch for the rest of the season now. LEAVE TAYLOR OUT OF THIS,” one fan wrote.
Clearly, the Seahawks may have made some new enemies.
