Central Railway has achieved a significant milestone in freight transportation with the booking of export traffic to Bangladesh for the first time from Yeola Goods Shed.

On October 23, 2026, a consignment of 50 BTPN wagons carrying 2,714 tonnes of molasses was dispatched to Benapole, Bangladesh, by M/s Shree Laxmi Exports, generating freight revenue of Rs.1.11 crore. The indent for this export traffic was registered on October 2, 2026, marking the initiation of a new international freight movement from Yeola Goods Shed. Traditionally, Yeola Goods Shed has handled onion and maize traffic. The introduction of molasses export traffic and successful booking of this consignment marks an important step towards strengthening freight business, promoting rail-based logistics and enhancing revenue through the development of new export traffic.
