The New England Patriots ran out of steam against the Chicago Bears on Thursday, absorbing a tough loss, 30-24, at Soldier Field.
The Patriots had their three-game winning streak snapped and fell to 4-3. The Bears, on the other hand, improved to 5-2.
Caleb Williams starred in his second game back from a hamstring injury. He went 22-of-33 for 308 yards, two touchdowns, and zero interceptions. He made all the right reads in crunch time, and Christian Gonzalez could not help but be in awe of the third-year quarterback.

“Caleb is an amazing quarterback. That play to Rome (Odunze), the ball went maybe a millimeter above KB’s (Kevin Byard) finger. If it was a little bit lower, KB would have tipped it. Who knows what would have happened?” said Gonzalez in the video posted by Patriots Reports’ Zach Gatsby.
“So that’s just one you tip your hat to. He made an amazing throw and a good catch (by Odunze). So, it’s the NFL. They’re going to make plays. We’re gonna make plays. It’s a battle to see who comes out on top.”

The 24-year-old Williams became the first quarterback in team history to record over 300 yards in consecutive games since Mitch Trubisky in 2018.
Drake Maye was not too shabby, throwing 24-of-31 for 321 yards, two touchdowns, and one pick. He had four carries for 26 yards. His valiant effort, however, was not enough to outlast the Bears.
Gonzalez logged four tackles.
The Patriots stayed afloat after Andy Borregales kicked a 47-yard field goal with 37 seconds left. The Bears, however, recovered the ensuing onside kick.
