Former Giants first-round pick Evan Neal was spotted at Philadelphia’s practice Thursday after participating in a tryout Wednesday, according to Zach Berman. Berman said he saw a player wearing No. 79 with “Neal” on his jersey, although the Eagles had not announced a signing.
Neal, 26, entered the NFL as the seventh overall pick in the 2022 draft. He made 27 starts in 29 regular-season appearances for New York, all at right tackle. The Giants released him during final roster cuts in August.
The 6-foot-7, 340-pound lineman would give Philadelphia another experienced player to evaluate as it searches for stability up front. His draft pedigree brings name recognition, but his uneven tenure with the Giants makes this a chance to rebuild his career rather than an immediate starting solution.

Philadelphia’s line has changed significantly, including Lane Johnson’s retirement, Cam Jurgens’ trade to Baltimore, and interior injuries. Offensive line coach Chris Kuper must build continuity as the Eagles try to end a four-game losing streak.
Neal played left guard, right tackle, and left tackle at Alabama, but he has started exclusively at offensive tackle in the NFL. The Eagles host Dallas on Monday night. An official announcement would clarify whether Neal is joining the active roster or practice squad and provide a clearer picture of Philadelphia’s plans for him.
