Linebacker Trenton Simpson predicted a multi-sack performance for the veteran pass rusher when Baltimore hosts his former team Sunday.

“I’m calling it,” Simpson said, according to Jamison Hensley.

Calais Campbell offered his own perspective on the emotions that could accompany the reunion, while acknowledging that Hendrickson has kept his feelings private.

“I mean, if it was me, I’d be thinking, ‘I’ll make them regret it,’” Campbell said, according to Hensley. “But I know Trey’s just a whole different kind of guy. He keeps his cards close to his chest.”

Campbell was describing how he would approach the matchup, rather than relaying a revenge declaration from Hendrickson.

The football stakes give Baltimore plenty of reason to hope Simpson’s prediction comes true. Disrupting Joe Burrow would help the Ravens protect their secondary against a receiving group led by Ja’Marr Chase and Tee Higgins.

Hendrickson returned from injury against Cleveland and recorded eight pressures and a sack, according to Cincinnati’s official scouting report, citing Next Gen Stats. Another productive afternoon could force the Bengals to devote additional protection to his side, potentially creating opportunities for Baltimore’s other rushers.

The Ravens need that pressure to translate into stalled drives as they attempt to avoid consecutive division losses.

Hendrickson hasn't delivered the public prediction. Simpson has handled that part, leaving his teammate to pursue the result.
