Will Texas bench Arch Manning? Steve Sarkisian mum on QB's future
· Yahoo Sports
When asked if he considered benching Arch Manning during Saturday's home Florida loss, Texas coach Steve Sarkisian said that "everything is going to be evaluated" because of lacking offensive performance team-wide.
That's not a direct response to whether or not he will bench Manning after his down performance and the team's second straight loss of the season, but it does make you wonder if Manning is on thin ice in Austin.

Manning threw for 173 yards and a touchdown on Saturday, but he turned the ball over late in the contest on a fumble that helped Florida seal the victory. He also threw a backbreaking interception late last week against Oklahoma.
Obviously, benching Manning would be a seismic move that would impact the quarterback's future at Texas and his possible decision to declare for the 2027 NFL Draft. It's highly unlikely he would return to Texas if he's benched. It could inspire him to transfer to a new school for the 2027 season and wait on the NFL until 2028.
We're not sure what's next for Manning and Texas, but Sarkisian being so vague about the future makes you wonder if the team will have some uncomfortable conversations about the quarterback position this week.

What a wild turn of events this would be in Austin.
When is Texas' next game?
The team hosts Ole Miss on Saturday, Oct. 24, at 7:30 p.m. ET.
