Eagles vs. Rams, Week 4, live updates: Eagles retake lead

· Yahoo Sports

PHILADELPHIA — Greetings from the press box at Lincoln Financial Field, where the Philadelphia Eagles will take on the Los Angeles Rams on Sunday afternoon.

Visit moryak.biz for more information.

The Eagles, who trying to bounce back from a brutal Week 3 loss to the Chicago Bears, will be without key players.

Wide receiver DeVonta Smith (hamstring), linebacker Zack Baun (concussion), safety Marcus Epps (groin) and, as of Sunday morning, right tackle Lane Johnson (personal reasons) will not suit up vs. the Rams.

Matthew Stafford, Puka Nacua and the Rams, after a 1-2 start to the season, will be motivated to get back to .500.

Stay tuned for our on-site updates throughout the game.

SECOND QUARTER

10:56 — Eagles 6, Rams 3

Jake Elliott just bailed out the Eagles’ offense with a 56-yard field goal to retake the lead.

It looked like the Eagles might score a touchdown on a drive that heavily featured rookie receiver Makai Lemon (three catches, 28 yards). But a long run by Tank Bigsby was wiped out by a Johnny Mundt holding call. Then, Jalen Hurts took a brutal sack to make it fourth-and-24 at the 38-yard line.

But credit to Elliott, who stepped up and drilled another long field goal. He’s bounced back from a bad 2025 season.

FIRST QUARTER

2:08 — Eagles 3, Rams 3

The Rams have tied it up after a 13-play, 58-yard drive was capped by a 40-yard field goal by Harrison Mevis.

The big play on the drive? A 28-yard dot from Matthew Stafford to Puka Nacua, who made a ridiculous catch, on third-and-3.

Stafford nearly had another perfectly-placed, long completion for a touchdown, but Davante Adams couldn’t haul in what should have been a 22-yard score.

8:38 — Eagles 3, Rams 0

The Eagles capitalized on Drew Mukuba’s interception with a Jake Elliott chip-shot field goal. Fans obviously wanted a touchdown. But a run play on third-and-1 to Tank Bigsby got blown up, losing five yards and forcing the FG attempt.

Injury update: Saquon Barkley, questionable, hamstring

Barkley, the Eagles’ star running back, came up limping after a six-yard run in the first quarter. Barkley was grabbing at his right hamstring after the run. Trainers ran over to Barkley and escorted him to the blue medical tent on the Eagles’ sideline.

11:48 — Eagles 0, Rams 0

The Eagles have their first defensive takeaway of the season — and it was a big one. After edge rusher Jonathan Greenard pressured Matthew Stafford, safety Drew Mukuba picked off a sailing Stafford pass and returned it 24 yards all the way to the Rams’ 28-yard line. The Eagles needed that after the offense went three-and-out to start things off.

PREDICTION

Nick Sirianni and the Eagles have Sean McVay and the Rams’ number. The record doesn’t lie. And the last time the Eagles played Los Angeles without Smith, Saquon Barkley rushed for a ridiculous 255 yards and two touchdowns.

I imagine the running game will be a focus again for the Eagles. But with the offensive line in a worse place now than it was two seasons ago, can they impose their will?

It will be easier to do so without Myles Garrett and Aaron Donald on Los Angeles’ defensive line. But I still don’t think running it well would be enough to outpace the Rams.

We all just watched Ben Johnson and Case Keenum pick apart the Vic Fangio’s defense. Now, the Eagles have to face McVay, Stafford, Nacua and Davante Adams.

Without Baun, I find it hard to believe the Eagles won’t get manipulated like they did on Monday.

Rams 27, Eagles 17
