⚽GIRLS SOCCER - Division I

Mt. Hope 5, South Kingstown 1

Mt. Hope rolled to a 5-0 girls soccer victory over South Kingstown, building a 2-0 halftime lead before pulling away in the second half.

Julia Fox led the Huskies with a goal and an assist, while Brooke Avila, Macy Brodd, Elise Lanoie and Maya Goglia each scored. Sara Nencka and Olivia Overy added assists for Mt. Hope, which received contributions throughout the lineup. Goalkeeper Moira Ware made one save to preserve the shutout as the Huskies controlled the match from start to finish.

Westerly 2, Chariho 0

Sienna Mathieu scored twice in the first half as Westerly earned a shutout victory. Mathieu struck in the opening minute and added a second goal with 12 minutes remaining before halftime, helping the Bulldogs take a 2-0 lead into the break.

Goalkeeper Phoebe Brennan made eight saves to preserve the clean sheet.

Chariho controlled possession for long stretches and outshot Westerly 9-4, but was unable to capitalize despite spending much of the match in the attacking third.

Savana Debont-Fitzgerald recorded two saves for the Chargers, who generated one corner kick but were held scoreless for the second straight game.

East Greenwich 3, Portsmouth 2

Portsmouth's Melina Sun and Allison Shuster scored the first and last goals of the game, respectively, but the Avengers' Maeve Soden scored a hattrick sandwiched between the two scores to help the Avengers slip past the Patriots in the D-I contest. Netminder Scarlett Ruff recorded nine saves to preserve the victory for EG.

Patriots' goalie Greyson Helie had 10 saves in the loss.  

⚽GIRLS SOCCER - Division II

Pilgrim 1, Smithfield 1

Pilgrim and North Smithfield battled to a 1-1 draw at Bend Street Fields in Warwick. Both teams scored on penalty kicks, with Allie Patten converting for the Patriots and Bynn Santos answering for the Lady Northmen.

Sofia Cabral helped preserve the tie for the Patriots, making five saves in goal.

Chariho goalkeeper Savana Fitzgerald finished with four saves in a solid effort for the Chargers.

⚽BOYS SOCCER - Division I

North Kingstown 1, East Greenwich 0

North Kingstown edged East Greenwich in a boys soccer matchup behind an early connection between Blake Longval and Casey Spitzer. Longval scored the game's lone goal with Spitzer picking up the assist as the Skippers held on for the shutout victory.

Goalkeeper Connor Bourque made four saves to earn the clean sheet for North Kingstown, while East Greenwich keeper Brady Parks kept the Avengers within striking distance with six saves in a strong effort.

⚽GIRLS VOLLEYBALL - Division I

Westerly 3, Chariho 0

Westerly swept Chariho by scores of 25-22, 25-17 and 25-21.

Ella Reyes led the Bulldogs at the net with 12 kills and five blocks, while SantanaaHamelin contributed a strong all-around effort with five kills, five blocks, six digs and two aces. Alison Maranda had 12 assists while adding three aces, two kills and a block.  

No Chariho stats were provided.

North Kingstown 3, Barrington 1

North Kingstown claimed a hard-fought  victory in Division I – 25-10, 23-25, 25-20, 25-19 – over Barrington.

Kayleigh Garrepy powered the Skippers with 23 kills and 12 digs, while Veda Larson added 15 assists, four aces and six digs. Georgia Steppen chipped in with five kills and two blocks.

For Barrington, Riley Fogarty posted a double-double with 13 kills, 11 digs and four aces, while Melissa Freshman contributed 16 assists and 10 digs in the Eagles' loss.

⚽GIRLS VOLLEYBALL - Division II

Tiverton 3, Burrillville 0

With Carlie Martin leading the way (11 aces, 3 kills and 8 digs) the Tigers swept away the Broncos (25-5,  25-14,  25-6). Also contributing heavily to the win were Liv Perreira with 11 kills and 3 digs and Sayler Ouellette with 5 aces, 18 assists.

For Burrillville in the loss, Makayla Hedquist had 5 digs and Amiyah Perry recorded 35 digs.

Ponaganset 3, Bay View 0

Capitalizing on the play of Rachel Lapham (7 kills, 2 aces, 4 digs), Anna Lafontaine (4 kills, 10 assists, 3 digs and Daisy Geoffroy (6 kills, 9 digs), the Chieftains blanked the Lynx in three sets, 25-16, 25-11, 25-23.There were no stats supplied for the Lynx.

North Smithfield 3, Pawtucket 1

The Northmen improved its record to 9-0 as they defeated the Pawtucket Co-op, 25-14, 25-22, 22-25, 25-18. Paving the way for the win were Shayliegh Bienvence (10 digs, 2 aces, 7 kills), Olivia Majeay (25 assists, 2 kills, 7 digs, 5 aces) and Natasha Jenkins (4 aces, 20 digs).

For Pawtucket in the loss, Elizabeth Akyereko had 7 kills and 4 blocks, Shayliegh Bienvence recorded 10 digs, 2 aces and 7 kills and Natasha Jenkins was good for 4 aces and 20 digs. Pawtucket falls to 5-5-0.

Woonsocket 3, BVP 0

The Villanovans Avaree Caron was strong at the net as she had 8 kills and 5 aces helping the Villa Novans to a three-set win (25-21, 25-15, qne 25-18) over the Blackstone Valley Prep.

For BVP, Gigi Correia had 2 kills and 3 aces.

⚽GIRLS VOLLEYBALL - Division III

Mount Pleasant 3, St. Patrick 0

Mount Pleasant rolled to a straight-sets victory over St. Patrick, by scores of 25-14, 25-13 and 25-10.

The Kilties received strong performances from Kianny Contreras (seven aces and eight kills while serving 14-for-16) and Leslianny Contreras (five aces and going 15-for-19 from the service line).

Alicia Mensah was perfect on her eight service attempts with two aces and dished out 10 assists, helping Mount Pleasant control the match from start to finish.

North Providence 3, Rogers 2

North Providence rallied from a one-set deficit to outlast Rogers in a five-set thriller.

After Rogers dominated the opening set, the teams traded tight contests before North Providence closed out the match – 8-25, 26-24, 25-19, 26-28. 15-9.

For Rogers, Riley Ahern contributed five aces, six assists and a kill, while Miranda Ventura added four aces and six kills.

North Providence was led by Olivia Geib-Ayala, who filled the stat sheet with eight kills, three blocks and three aces. Mariana Xavier and Karla Polanco-Mora each chipped in four kills as the Cougars completed the comeback.
