Kaulig CEO Shoots Down Brad Keselowski Rumor

Kaulig Racing CEO Chris Rice says there is nothing to the rumors linking Brad Keselowski to his team and Dodge. Rice also made a Dodge return to the NASCAR Cup Series in 2027 sound less likely.

Rice spoke on SiriusXM NASCAR Radio on Thursday, which posted the interview on X.

Keselowski and RFK Racing announced this week that he will leave the No. 6 Ford after the 2026 season. His future as a co-owner of the team will be worked out between the two sides.

Keselowski won the 2012 Cup title for Dodge with Team Penske, the last season before Dodge left the series. That history led to talk of a reunion with Kaulig, which is seen as the most likely team for a Dodge return. Rice said he is used to that kind of speculation.

“No. And I was telling somebody yesterday, I don’t know how in the heck every time a driver leaves, we become the talk that they’re coming to us.”

He pointed to how long AJ Allmendinger has been with the team.

“Like, we have had AJ Allmendinger for eight and a half years. Like, let’s think about that. Right.”

Allmendinger made his first start for Kaulig in July 2019, a little more than seven years ago. Rice said he did meet with Keselowski in his motorhome at Kansas Speedway last weekend. He said the meeting was about a committee Keselowski sits on, not driving.

“I didn’t think nothing about it. I went in his motorhome and sat down with him for about 45 minutes, talking about the whole thing that he, he wanted a conversation about like advice on not really advice, just like what do we think as an organization, as a team? I walk out of there.

“I wave at some reporters. I didn’t think one; it didn’t even cross my mind. Then the news comes out. He didn’t say a word to me, but like the news comes out.”

Rice then turned to Dodge’s possible return. He said Kaulig has not discussed a Dodge seat with Keselowski at all.

“So no, I have not had any conversation with Brad Keselowski about driving a Dodge, even if Dodge comes back.

“Like we obviously we’re super late. You’re not hearing me talk about it much no more. So that should tell you what’s happening.”

Dodge has not committed to a Cup return. In July, Rice said engines were the main obstacle, and that Dodge had “not committed to do it yet.”

Keselowski has said he wants to keep racing. He has not announced where he will drive in 2027, and the No. 6 ride at RFK has not been filled.

Dodge last raced in the Cup Series in 2012. Its sister brand RAM has since returned to motorsports in the Truck Series with Kaulig.
