Terry McLaurin is not having a blast downfield through two weeks of football in the 2026 NFL season. The Washington Commanders star wide receiver only has 64 receiving yards after two games, and he got those off just four receptions and 13 targets.

Heading into Week 3’s matchup between the Commanders and the Seattle Seahawks in Washington’s season home debut at Northwest Stadium in Landover this Sunday, McLaurin expressed confidence that his numbers will soon trend upward despite a slow start.
“Everything is not necessarily clicking, but that’s football…I know the plays will come. I’m not really too pressed I’d say,” the former Ohio State Buckeyes star wideout McLaurin told Scott Abraham of 7News DC.

In Week 2’s 37-20 loss to the Dallas Cowboys in Arlington, McLaurin caught just two of nine targets for 50 receiving yards. It could have been a so much bigger outing for him, but his 20-yard touchdown was overturned. He was also seemingly open for a big play, but a poor pass from Antonio Gibson during a trick play denied the wide receiver of what looked like an otherwise easy score.
So far, it has been Washington newcomer and veteran wide receiver Stefon Diggs, who has been leading the Commanders downfield. Diggs has 102 receiving yards and three touchdowns on nine receptions and 15 targets, while Williams is right next to Diggs with 88 receiving yards and a touchdown on seven catches and seven targets.
The prospect of the Commanders’ offense popping off in Week 3, however, doesn’t seem all that great, considering that they will be playing in the reigning Super Bowl champions’ territory. That is not to mention that the Seahawks are leading the league with only 124.5 passing yards allowed per game.
The Commanders are also missing their Week 1 starter Jayden Daniels, who is sidelined with an elbow injury.
