But for the second game in a row, the Browns’ ground attack was barely felt.
Cleveland only produced 87 yards on the ground in Week 1’s 34-10 loss on the road to the Jacksonville Jaguars, and it didn’t get much better in the Buccaneers game, with the NFC North franchise mustering only 44 rushing yards. To date, Cleveland has zero rushing touchdowns.
Browns Rushing Attack Has Been Anemic Early in 2026 NFL Season

[Corey Perrine/Florida Times-Union]The Browns faced two of the top-five run defenses in 2025 in the first two weeks of the 2026 season, but Cleveland running back Quinshon Judkins doesn’t seem to think that it was the biggest issue behind his team’s minimal production on the ground.
“I think as far as, you know, defense that we face, it’s more so about us, you know, you look back to, you know, going into the season, what our game plan was, was to run the ball downhill at Jacksonville, and the same week as far as Tampa,” Judkins said on Monday (via Camryn Justice of News 5 Cleveland).
So I think it’s more so about us and how we prepare rather than the opponent, you know, what we are good at, what we believe in, and just, you know, just putting ourselves in the best position to be successful. I think that’s what’s most important and just going out there and executing.”
Week 3 seems to bring a better outlook for Judkins and Cleveland’s rushing game, as the Browns are set to face the Carolina Panthers this coming Sunday. Carolina was 20th in the league in 2025 with 123.3 rushing yards allowed per game and last in the NFL through two weeks this season with 224.0 rushing yards surrendered per outing.
