Before suffering a sprained MCL injury against the Los Angeles Rams, New York Giants quarterback Jaxson Dart and girlfriend Marissa Ayers shared a sweet moment.

The New York Post shared a pregame video of Dart and Ayers before kickoff. The model and ring girl wore a red dress to the game. It appears she called him for a picture, and he obliged.

Dart’s parents, Kara and Brandon, were also on the sideline. Kara Dart snapped the picture quickly before the quarterback returned to pregame warmups.

In addition to the picture Dart took with his girlfriend, he took one with her and his parents. However, his teammate, running back Cam Skattebo, joined the happy family.

Sadly, the pregame festivities were the highlight of the night for the Giants. Dart was moving the Giants offense down the field before getting injured on a third-down play.

He threw a deep ball to Theo Johnson on 3rd & 8, which was dropped. However, he took a big hit after being sandwiched by Byron Young and Josaiah Stewart.

Dart remained on the ground for a little bit before going to the back for X-rays. He would later return to the sideline to watch the rest of the game and support his teammates.

Ian Rapoport and Mike Garafolo would later report that he is believed to have suffered a sprained MCL based on the initial exams. He will get an MRI on Tuesday, Sep. 22, to evaluate the full extent of the injury.

He will likely “miss some time,” but a sprained MCL is better than anything being torn. Hopefully, the Giants can tread water with Jameis Winston in Dart’s absence. The Giants lost to the Rams 28-6 in Week 2. They play the 0-2 Tennessee Titans, who are coming off a heartbreaking loss to the Philadelphia Eagles, next in Week 3.
