Mason exits after first half of Jacks win

BROOKINGS, S.D. (KELO) --- The Jackrabbits lost starting quarterback Chase Mason for the remainder of the game against Youngstown State after an injury in the first half.
Backup Josh Holst ran the offense for the remainder of the game, while Mason watched from the sideline wearing a metal brace on his left leg.

South Dakota State head coach Dan Jackson expressed optimism postgame, though he offered no definitive timeline on Mason's injury.
"I’ll let you guys know when I know, and I’ve got some more experience on how to handle that now," Jackson said. "I love that kid so much, and he loves this place so much and this program so much. I hope anybody listening to this is hoping he’s OK."
