‘Madden curse strikes again’ – Fans react as Caleb Williams screams in pain after suffering a non-contact injury

Caleb Williams was arguably the best player during Week 1 of the NFL, and a lot was expected from him this season. However, he is now feared to have suffered an injury, as Williams went down in what appeared to be a serious injury against the Minnesota Vikings.
The injury occurred in the fourth quarter when the Vikings were leading the Chicago Bears 6-3 with 7 minutes and 27 seconds remaining.

On a rushing attempt by Williams, he appeared to get close to the end zone after skipping past a Vikings player. It was then that he appeared to have suffered a hamstring injury according to reports.
The QB was screaming in pain and needed help from the Bears’ backroom staff to walk off the field.
At the time of the injury, Williams had completed 15/26 passes and thrown for 138 yards.
Fans react to Williams’ injury against the Vikings
Williams was phenomenal in Week 1 vs Panthers, and his outing led many to believe that the Bears QB could end up winning MVP honours this season.
This injury does hurt his chances of winning that award, but also puts a brake on the Bears’ chances of making a push for the Super Bowl.
Disappointed fans expressed their views on the Williams injury on X.
One user tweeted, “Madden curse strikes again! Ova wit my boi!!”
“Oh no, hate to see it. Hope he’s alright. Not a lot of contact but it didn’t look like the type of motion you see with no contact ACL, but not sure what else it could be except maybe Achilles. I feel terrible for Caleb Williams,” another added.
A fan felt bad for Chicago sports after seeing Williams go down injured.
“Chicago sports cannot catch a break when they have a next up superstar smh,” he added.
A concerned fan tweeted, “This has me generally depressed…. not even a bears fan either…. love watching him play.”
While another opined, “Chicago… it was only a matter of time. You don’t get nice things.”
