What a rebound week for Richland County.
After a less-than-impressive Week 4, Richland County teams posted a 5-4 record in Week 5 to get back on track.

Let's take a look at what happened in those games as well as some scores from around area conferences with the Week 5 recap.
Richland County High School Football Scoreboard
Shelby 47, Highland 6
The Shelby Whippets got healthy and cruised to a 47-6 Mid-Ohio Athletic Conference victory over Highland in Week 5.
Playing in his first game in two weeks, Shelby quarterback Michael Shepherd was sensational completing 16-or-23 passes for 289 yards and four touchdowns and running for 67 yards on nine carries with three more scores accounting for seven TDs on the game. Griffin Yeager caught three passes for 82 yards while Casyn Koch added four catches for 82 yards and a score, Brady Bowman caught six passes for 71 yards and two touchdowns, Jaiden Wilson added two catches for 37 yards and Kayden Paz caught a 17-yard touchdown.
Luke Blevin added 43 rushing yards while Gavin Baker ran for 21 and Bowman had 11. The Whippets put up 443 yards of total offense and allowed just 106 yards from Highland.
Shelby improves to 5-0 and 2-0 in the MOAC. They host River Valley in Week 6.
Clear Fork 42, Pleasant 0
The Clear Fork Colts enjoyed an offensive explosion and a defensive dominance in a 42-0 Mid-Ohio Athletic Conference victory over Pleasant on Friday night.
Marcus Hoeflich got the pass game going completing 8-of-11 passes for 230 yards and two touchdowns while also running for 38 yards and a score. Quentin Rinehart caught three passes for 73 yards and two touchdowns while Alekai Price caught three passes for 106 yards. Alex Schlosser ran for 91 yards on five carries with two touchdowns while Aiden DeMoss added 61 yards on five carries with a score.
While the offense piled up 434 yards of total offense, the defense was lights out holding Pleasant to just 193 yards of total offense and intercepting two passes.
The Colts are now 4-1 and travel to Marion Harding in Week 6.
Lexington 44, Wooster 30
The Lexington Minutemen handed first-year head coach Jacob Owens a memorable first career victory on Friday night during a 44-30 Ohio Cardinal Conference win over Wooster.
Namely, Camron Glennon did everything he could to make sure the Minutemen earned that first victory of the 2026 season. He was unstoppable with 109 receiving yards, 103 rushing yards and four total offensive touchdowns. He also had a 60-yard fumble return for a score while adding a 47-yard pick six and a 75-yard kickoff return for a stellar all-around performance on offense, defense and special teams.
The Minutemen improve to 1-4 and travel to Mansfield Senior in Week 6.
Sebring McKinley 42, Plymouth 37
The Plymouth Big Red took a dramatic 42-37 loss in 8-man football on Friday night at Sebring McKinley.
Weston Kamman had a 7-yard touchdown pass to Lincoln Distl to send the Big Red into halftime trailing 12-7 before Distl scored late in the third quarter to give the Big Red a 13-12 lead after three quarters. Distl then added a 60-yard touchdown catch and returned a punt for a score in during a wild fourth quarter.
Plymouth is now 1-4 on the season and 1-3 in the Northern 8 Conference. The Big Red return home to play Chalker in Week 6.
West Holmes 42, Madison 7
The Madison Rams took a tough 42-7 Ohio Cardinal Conference loss to West Holmes on Friday night.
Damarrion Lloyd ran for 44 yards on 10 carries while Carson Cook completed 17-of-34 passes for 149 yards and a touchdown to Camden Moysi, who finished with 28 receiving yards. Lloyd caught six passes for 42 yards while Jayden Hall caught five passes for 44 yards.
The Rams fall to 2-3 and travel to Ashland in Week 6.
New Philadelphia 35, Mansfield Senior 0
The Mansfield Senioe Tygers were shut out by the New Philadelphia Quakers in Ohio Cardinal Conference football action during Week 5 of the 2026 season.
David Phillips III completed 7-of-14 passes for 103 yards while Emaj Parks caught three passes for 58 yards. Braylon Fletcher led the Tygers in rushing with 26 yards while Jeffrey Lane added 24 on the ground.
The Tygers are now 0-5 and host Lexington in Week 6.
South Central 15, Crestview 7
The Crestview Cougars slid to 0-5 on the season with a 15-7 loss to South Central in Firelands Conference action.
The Cougars grabbed a 7-0 lead with 57 seconds remaining in the first quarter when Colton Ernandes hit Carson Keener on a 90-yard touchdown for the game’s opening score. Unfortunately, it was the only time the Cougars found the end zone. Ernandes ended the game with 109 passing yards and a score while Keener had 110 receiving yards with a TD. Wyatt Barber ran for 51 yards.
